Perryville - The Battle for Kentucky
In October 1862, Perryville Kentucky, was a small
town of a few hundred people, nestled amid the
bluegrass farms and rolling hills of central Boyd
County. A 3 month drought in the region had
made life bitterly hard, leaving only stagnate
scum covered pools of water. What once was
Doctors Creek, now becomes the stage for two
opposing forces, looking to quince their thirst,
and unaware of the bloodshed to come.
This 11x17 print along with the history of the
Perryville Battle tributes the struggle between
the Union and Confederate forces as they
clashed for the Commonwealth in the town of
Perryville as captured by Dwight in the images
portrayed by just some of the 4,000 dedicated
Civil War Re-Enactors during the National Civil
WarReenactment on Oct 7&8, 2006.
